The Netherlands is a tiny country with a lot to offer and no place more so than grand Amsterdam. For centuries this progressive city has been the face of her industrious, cosmopolitan people. The city conjures up a plethora of images: canals with tiny boats and bridges spanning across them; museums filled with famous Impressionistic art; distinct and beautiful cobbled streets lined with tall architectural gems; a rich history of trade thanks to her world-class port; and a liberal, inclusive social scene home to the famous and “infamous” coffee shops and red light district.
But there is more to this Globally-Oriented Region than windmills and clog shoes (although as the video to to the right shows, Holland certainly does have all that!) The strengths of the cities comprising the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area have made the area more than just the sum of its parts.
